Once Saved Always Saved?
There are two main scriptures that supposedly support the doctrine of "once saved-always saved":
John 10:28,29 and Romans 8:35-39

*Nothing or no one else separates us from God. Although this statement is true, we all have choices in our lives. Therefore we must remain faithful to God to be saved.
James 1:13-16 says we're drawn away by our own lust which brings forth sin then death. (The Greek word for death here is separation from God.

*We must continue in faith & obedience to attain salvation:
1 Samuel 12:14,15 John 8:31 Romans 6:1 Romans 11:22
John 15:9-10 John 15:9-10 Col 1:23
Acts 14:22 I Tim. 2:15 II Tim. 3:14 Ez. 33:12-13

*Many disciples of Christ left him and his grace and followed him no more. (John 6:66) They believed for awhile (Luke 8:13) but drew back into perdition. (Hebrews 10:26-39)

*To receive Christ and confess Him brings new birth, so those who believed for awhile must have had grace to fall from! (John1:12;
I John 5:1)

* Examples of those who "fell from grace":
Judas-Jesus trusted Judas at one time. (Psalms 41:9) Judas was saved & had a ministry. (Acts 1:17,25)
He was called to preach.(Matthew 10:1-4)
He was numbered with the twelve and was given miraculous power.(Matthew 10:1-4)
1. Judas fell by sin, drawn away by a lust for money.
2. Widow who cast off her faith was damned.(I Timothy 5:11-12)

* In the parable of the sower, some seeds took no root and died. This is symbolic of new Christians who are saved by faith but never root themselves in the Word. Without the root, they will die spiritually and be lost.(Matthew 13:20,21; Luke 8:13)
*God's promises to us are conditional. We must follow His commandments in all areas of our lives.
- I Corinthians 15:2 says we are saved by the gospel of Christ if we keep in memory what is preached-otherwise we have believed in vain.
-Revelations 2:10 says...."be thou faithful unto death and I will give thee a crown for life."
-Revelations 2:11 says..."he that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death."

*Matthew 24 speaks of signs of the second coming of Christ. In verse 11-13, the Bible states that many will be deceived and because of iniquity their love will grow cold. He that endures unto the end, the same shall be saved. Therefore, we must remain faithful to God to be saved.

*God blotted names out of the Book of Life.
-Exodous 32:33
-Psalms 60:28
-Psalms 109:13
-Revelations 3:5
-Revelations 22:18-19
In Revelations 2:4-5 Speaking to the church in a backslidden condition, Jesus told them to repent or He would remove their candlestick (light of salvation).
2 Peter 2:21-- For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
Preachers of the gospel be warned:
Ezekiel 33:7-8-- So thou, O son of man I have set the a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.
When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

* JESUS SAID, IF YE LOVE ME, KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS. (John 14:15) He left no room for excuses in this statement.
